Scotland rising star Billy Gilmour and Karamoko Dembele have been included on the longlist for the iconic Golden Boy that names the best player in Europe.

The Hoops kid, who has chosen to play was included in Neil Lennon's Celtic squad this season and the 17-year-old made two appearances against Cluj and Ross County

Gilmour rapid rise into the Chelsea first team was the story before lockdown and many expect the 18-year-old to pick up where he left off when the game returns.

The star duo have been named as one of the 100 youngsters who are battling it out for the award, which has previously been won by the likes of Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Aguero, Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling and Kylian Mbappe.

The list was compiled by Italian publication Tuttosport, who started the award in 2003 and features 21 kids on the list from clubs in
the English Premier League.

Dembele and Gilmour will be up against Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, 19, who has made an incredible impact at Borussia Dortmund, team mate Jadon Sancho, along with Bayern Munich winger Alphonso Davies and Barcelona teenager Ansu Fati.

They will also be up against English-based kids including Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi, Manchester United's Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden of Manchester City.
