Billy Dodds joins Inverness coaching staff as Neil McCann appoints ex-Rangers striker as new assistant

Interim Inverness boss Neil McCann has moved to bring in Billy Dodds as his assistant.

The former Ross County No. 2 has agreed to help Caley Thistle out, as they look to pull away from the Scottish Championship drop zone.

McCann has taken the reins in the short-term until John Robertson comes back from compassionate leave, while assistant Scott Kellacher is recovering from serious illness.

Dodds said: “When you look at the situation at Inverness, what has happened to John and Scott Kellacher, it would have been very selfish of me if I hadn’t taken up this opportunity to help my local club. “That is where it is.

“Knowing Neil, Barry Robson and Ryan Esson over the years, I have connections with every one of them.

“It was an easy one for me and I can’t wait to get started.

“I want to help them out because they are local to me.”
