Billy Connolly has revealed he wants a special memorial dedicated to him to be erected an island on the middle of Loch Lomond.
Sir Billy – who has been battling Parkinson’s Disease for several years – would like the 'practical' commemoration to be a gift to the fishermen on the loch that they could use as a picnic table.
The legendary Glaswegian comedian lived with his first wife Iris near the loch in Drymen and fished its waters for a number of years.
The Big Yin could often be seen setting out on a rowing boat from Balmaha for a spot of fishing before he divorced and moved to London in 1981.

His love of the loch still holds strong and in his new book, Tall Tales and Wee Stories, the 76-year-old says: “I’ve been asked how I would like to be remembered, and my answer is: as a good laugh. ‘Here lies Billy Connolly : A good laugh.’ That’ll do me.
“And instead of having a stone somewhere to commemorate my life, I would rather have it made into a table on an island in Loch Lomond .

“Somewhere for the fisherman guys to have their tea on. Somewhere to put their cups on. That would be practical. Like at picnics.
He added: “Picnics are uncomfortable things; your arse is at the same level as your cup. Eventually you’ll knock your cup over and spill it all over your sandwiches.
“So, I think it would be nice to have a wee table for the fishermen. A useful gift from me to them."
Tall Tales And Wee Stories by Billy Connolly is published by John Murray Press and costs £20. It is available to purchase now.
