Billy Connolly unable to share bed with wife Pamela Stephenson as he sleeps 'like a wild animal'

Legendary Scottish comedian is unable to sleep in the same bed as his wife because his Parkinson's disease causes him to sleep like a "wild animal".

The said he is concerned about "becoming a pain in the arse" and that he credits Pamela Stephenson for plumping his pillows for him every night.

has "good days and bad days", but struggles to perform simple tasks like putting money into his wallet, the Mirror reports.

He said: "So far, she has never tutted. And she’s a rather attractive nurse.

“One day my hearing went, then my balance went, my sight got worse.

“It feels as if everything is being taken away from you and you watch it go.”

“I sleep like a wild animal,” the said.

“Laughing and singing or having fights. has to sleep in another bed.”

He revealed his illness “brings out the best” in others who show kindness when he needs help.

If you say, ‘I can’t get up, could you please help me out of my chair please?’ no one ever says, ‘Why?’ They just do it. Maybe it’s just me, but I live this magical life.”

Billy, who was diagnosed with the degenerative neurological illness in 2013, takes to slow the effects.

He and wife Pamela, 69, live in Florida and during his interview with the Observer Billy described himself as being “content”.

He manages to pull out of dark moments by telling himself: “Billy, you are 76 years old, how the f*** did you imagine you were going to feel?”
