Billy Connolly spotted 'looking great' at Celtic v Dunfermline as Big Yin meets fans

Sir Billy Connolly has been pictured stopping for selfies with fans at Celtic Park ahead of the Hoops' cup clash with Dunfermline.

The Big Yin was said to be "looking great" as he donned a suit and colourful tie for the afternoon game in Glasgow's east end.

The comedian, who is suffering from Parkinson's disease, took time to meet adoring fans outside the stadium before being ushered to his seat.

Shauny Gillan, a 32-year-old Celtic fan from Greenock, said it was great to meet the funnyman.

He said: "Here's a picture of Billy Connolly at the Celtic game today looking great.

"I've always wanted to meet him.

"He kind of got rushed inside but he seemed happy to stop and take pictures with a couple of fans".

Billy, 76, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2013 and had prostate surgery following a cancer diagnosis the same year.

In a documentary in January he admitted that he was now “at the wrong end of the telescope of life”.

He added: “My life is slipping away and I can feel it. But it doesn’t frighten me – it’s an adventure."

It will have been a nervous match for the Big Yin and his fellow Celtic supporters - with the Hoops only progressing in the Betfred Cup after going 2-1 up in extra time.
