Billy Bush gets his first TV job since Trump tape emerged

Billy Bush is getting back on TV.

The TV host, who has been without a job since the infamous 2005 tape involving President Trump's lewd comments about women emerged in 2016, is set to start a gig with "Extra Extra," a spinoff of the entertainment news show "Extra," he told People.

"We all have to be able to evolve as we grow," Bush told the magazine. "The guy that left the scene in 2016 was already a changed person (since 2005), but I had the opportunity to grow up a little bit. Facing adversity in some way is good. And I feel I'll be better at my job than I ever was. This is my next step."

Bush, 47, was let go from his job on the "Today" show in October 2016, shortly after the years-old recording surfaced. Bush had been with Trump in 2005 to film an "Access Hollywood" segment, and a hot microphone caught Trump's crude comments about women.

"And when you're a star, they let you do it," Trump said in the recording. "You can do anything. Grab them by the p_y. You can do anything."

Meanwhile, Bush can be heard laughing along, and he also remarked about the physical appearance of "Days of Our Lives" actress Arianne Zucker.

The video emerged a little over a month before the 2016 presidential election.

Bush's new show begins Sept. 9. It's set to air on Fox.

The host says he used his time away from television to take a better look at himself.

"I own the moment," Bush told People of the Trump video. "It was a bad moment. And I was in it. But one moment doesn't define your life."
