Billy Bragg to perform in Bristol during Extinction Rebellion protest

Singer and activist Billy Bragg will be performing in Bristol on the second day of the Extinction Rebellion protest.

The rock musician will first be giving a talk from the huge pink boat in Bristol Bridge at 11am this morning (July 16).

He will then be performing for Extinction Rebellion Youth on College Green at around 1pm.

The singer wrote on Twitter: "Summer's here and the time is right for marching in the street.

"I'll be in Bristol tomorrow on the Extinction Rebellion demo, playing some songs for @XrYouth on College Green around 1pm."

On the first day of the protest, thousands of protesters took to the streets of Bristol causing disruption and delays throughout the city centre .

For the second day, Extinction Rebellion Youth Bristol will be camping in College Green and undertaking activities to highlight the emergency.

Meanwhile, older activists will be challenging councillors and the Mayor on their carbon plans at the City Council .
