While working alongside your ex’s most recent partner might be the stuff of nightmares for most people, Billy Bob Thornton would jump at the chance.
The Fargo actor said an ideal collaborator for him would be Brad Pitt: The man who is currently going through a divorce with Angelina Jolie who is also Thornton’s ex-wife.
“This might surprise people, but I’d love to do a movie with Brad Pitt,” Thornton told Playboy. “I think we’d be great together. We’d play a couple of Southern guys.”
Thornton married Jolie, then 20 years his junior, in 2000. Their intense relationship quickly became a source of fascination for the media helped in part by their frequent public displays of affection, the tattoo of his name on Jolie's left arm (which she has now tactfully – and thankfully – covered up) and the lockets they wore around their necks containing each others blood.
The 61-year-old told the men's magazine the pair are still friends however do not get to speak often.
"That won't ever go away. We don't talk on a regular basis, sometimes I won't see her for five years. But I offer. I know she's been through a lot. She's a great person. And she's one of the people who didn't abandon me. She never has," he said.
The Tomb Raider actress filed for divorce from Pitt last month after a ten-year relationship and two-year marriage. Custody disputes over their six children are understood to still be ongoing.
