Billy and Lanlih Holland's praise incredible support as over €500,000 raised in memory of late daughter Emmeline

Rugby player Billy Holland and wife Lanlih had a final thank-you message to the public for their incredible support since their appearance on The Late Late Show last week.

The Munster rugby star and his wife bravely shared their story, telling Ryan Tubridy of their life with daughter Emmeline, who was born with severe medical problems which gave them only a very little time together.

Since appearing on the show over €500,000 has been raised for Crumlin's Children Hospital and the CUH Children's Ward which has blown the couple away.

In a lengthy Twitter post, Billy Holland said: "We want to send out a final thank you to everyone who has so generously donated and/or sent us messages. We really appreciate the incredible support that we have received and we will spend a lot of the coming weeks reading through everything.

"We have started our meetings with the charities about what the money will be used for and we are so excited thinking about the tangible impact this money is going to make to sick children and their families.

"We hope to share details in time, once everything is confirmed, so you can know how the lives of sick children will be improved because of Emmeline and your donations.

"We couldn't be any prouder of Emmeline and her legacy.

"Many people have contacted us and told us about children who have passed away either recently or many years ago. We hope that this week may have given them another opportunity to speak about their beloved child. If you know anyone that has lost a child, please check in on them (no matter how much time has passed) and reassure them that their child has not been forgotten.

"We desperately wish Emmeline was here to feel all the love that has been sent our way. We miss her so much every day."
