Bills hire former Dolphins director of analytics

The Buffalo Bills are making moves this off-season in an effort to boost their front office. They’re also adding a former Miami Dolphin at the same time. Their latest move has been formalized to accomplish both of those feats, as Buffalo has officially added Dennis Lock as their director of football research and strategy.

Lock, who first joined the Miami Dolphins as the team’s director of analytics under former general manager Dennis Hickey, now joins Hickey with the Bills organization.

Lock left the team to join the Bills after four seasons with Miami, a move that was first reported by Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald several days ago.

But now the Bills’ team directory is officially updated and shows Dennis Lock under his new, formal title. His specific responsibilities are yet to be determined, but he is reportedly expected to contribute in predictive models, among other roles.

Lock holds a graduate degree in statistics from Missouri.
