Bills DC: ‘I prefer not to think about Derrick Henry right now’

When facing the Tennessee Titans, the most difficult thing to game plan for is running back Derrick Henry, the most dominant player at his position in the NFL.

He’s the kind of player that can stress an opposing defensive coordinator out, a fact that was perfectly encapsulated by Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator, Leslie Frazier.

“I prefer not to think about Derrick Henry right now,” Frazier joked. “He’s a really, really good back and we’re going to have our hands full trying to contain him.”

Bills head coach Sean McDermott says that facing Henry will be a big test for his unit, which comes into this game as the league’s No. 3 run defense.

“Derrick is playing at a high level. One of the best, if not the best, backs in the league. We go from one challenge to another challenge this week,” McDermott said. “It’ll be a big test for us.”

In the 2020 meeting between these two teams, the Bills did a great job limiting the reigning rushing champion to just 57 yards on 19 carries; however, he did still find the end zone twice.

Henry, who currently leads the NFL in rushing yards with 640, is off to the best start of his career and is on pace to not only surpass 2,000 yards once again, but to break the single-season rushing record, also.

With each passing week, Henry continues to hit new milestones, making it look routine. The Titans will certainly need another standout performance from Henry if they’re going to beat the Bills on Monday.
