Agent denies that La'el Collins is meeting with NFL teams

May 05--La'el Collins finds himself in high demand again just days after seeing his status drop from probable first-round NFL pick to going undrafted due to being linked to a homicide investigation.

Hours after being questioned by police as part of the investigation of the death of Brittney Mills and her unborn son, Collins reportedly went to dinner with Buffalo Bills Coach Rex Ryan at Ruffino's Restaurant in Baton Rouge on Monday night.

Collins has a meeting scheduled with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday and has received interest from "almost every" NFL team over the past few days, a source told the Advocate, adding that the former LSU offensive tackle will probably meet with many of those organizations in the near future.

But Collins' agent Deryk Gilmore denied such reports in a text to the Associated Press, saying his client is "not meeting with teams. You can quote me."

One of 26 players invited by the league to attend draft festivities in Chicago, Collins saw his stock drop dramatically last week when word got out that he was wanted for questioning by police in relation to the two deaths.

Police said Mills has never been considered to be a suspect in the case.

Now that he has spoken with investigators, Collins finds himself in the position of basically being able to choose which team he will play for -- albeit without the huge paycheck that would have come with being a first-round draft pick.
