Billionaire Sheikh builds 46ft-long and 20ft-wide Hummer H1 - and it's fully drivable

A car-mad Sheikh has built the world’s biggest Hummer H1.

The incredible vehicle boasts a height of 21.6ft (6.6m) and is fully drivable.

At 46ft-long (14m) and 20ft-wide (6m), the monster truck was commissioned by Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan.

It will take pride of place in his Sharjah Off Road History Museum in the UAE.

The Sheikh, a billionaire member of the Emirati royal family, holds the Guinness World record for largest collection of 4x4 vehicles at 718 models.

Jaw-dropping scenes saw his latest ride, the so-called Hummer H1 X3, being driven to the location on public roads.

Built on the frame of US Army LARC-LX steel-hulled amphibious cargo vehicle, it runs with four diesel engines.

Capable of a top speed of 32km/h, the museum says it is “three times bigger than a normal Hummer H1 by scale and 27 times by volume.”

The interior is spread over two floors, both of which are still being worked on.

The first floor has stairs, a toilet and a sink. The second features a majlis (a private place where house guests and friends are received and entertained) with a 360-degree view. It also contains the steering cabin.

The X3 will be the latest addition to the Sharjah Off Road History Museum, which is situated 30km north of Dubai.

The attraction is based on the Sheikh’s love of all-terrain vehicles.
