Billionaire's 'divorce mansion' with own helipad and maze goes on market for £32million

A billionaire divorce mansion with a hedge maze and its own helipad has gone on sale for £32 million.

It is believed to be one of the priciest properties in Surrey, but it is again looking for a new buyer with deep pockets.

The mansion is being put on the market for much cheaper than it has been sold for previously.

It was last up for sale four years ago, but now £18 million has been chopped off the asking price, allowing buyers to indulge themselves in its grandeur.

Called Bishopsgate House, the mansion in Englefield Green had a price tag of £50 million when it was marketed in 2018, but it can now be snapped up can now for a cool £32 million.

SurreyLive reports that the house was at the centre of a high-profile divorce case in 2016.

Then, its owner Sheik Walid Juffali paid a settlement of £75 million to Christina Estrada, which at the time was a UK record.

Juffali died shortly after the legal proceedings, and the family is now looking to sell their marital home.

Just four miles from Windsor Castle, the property enjoys secret access to Windsor Great Park.

That access has existed for centuries, and was initially used by monks who had been granted permission to pass through the gate into the Great Park – hence the name Bishopsgate.

"It is one of just a few homes to have this Narnia-esque entrance to Windsor Great Park," said Becky Fatemi, founder and director of Rokstone, who are the estate agents managing the sale.

"The deeds state that residents are allowed to cross the threshold by foot or on horseback for the grand total of £1 levy per year."

Among its many features, the 33,264 sq ft home comes with a helipad that was created in 2005 due to the property's proximity to the private Farnborough Airport.

The Royal Family have also been known to use the helipad from time to time when visiting Windsor Castle.

The house boasts five reception rooms, 12 bedrooms, and leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool and "wellbeing zone".

And for buyers who are more sporty, there are also floodlit tennis courts and for adventurers and kids there is beautiful hedge maze in which to get lost.

The grand property also has extensive equestrian facilities and a separate three-bedroom guest cottage for those who want to have friends or family staying over, but would like to maintain their privacy.

The property's outside space features sweeping lawns and as well as the maze has stables within the grounds for any aspiring rider.

Its guest cottage is also a benefit for those who enjoy a good social life or want to have friends over for the weekend.
