Billie Eilish sparks outrage after exposing rappers for 'lying' in their song lyrics

Billie Eilish is under fire for exposing some of today's rappers by saying that they "lie" in their song lyrics.

The 18-year-old Grammy winner has caused an uproar following an interview she did with  Vogue.

The Bad Guy singer accused hip-hop artists of making up stories about guns and women in their lyrics - something which she says she does not do.

She told the magazine: “Just because the story isn't real doesn't mean it can’t be important.

“There’s a difference between lying in a song and writing a story. There are tons of songs where people are just lying."

She added: "There’s a lot of that in rap right now, from people that I know who rap.

"It’s like, ‘I got my AK-47, and I’m fuckin' . . .’ and I’m like, what? You don’t have a gun. ‘And all my bitches. . . .’ I’m like, which bitches?

"That’s posturing, and that’s not what I’m doing.”

And the superstar's comments were met with backlash from fans, who called her out for her criticism.

Some even went as far as accusing her of stealing from hip-hop.

One person wrote: "-Uses hip hop-influenced music to become famous - takes the aesthetic of hip hop to become a fashion icon - s**ts on hip hop .

"The normal white woman pop career path."

While another sarcastically critiqued: "Good point Billie. Also, why didn't we arrest Johnny Cash for shooting a man in Reno. He confessed and everything."

A third slated: "The most overrated generic artist in the world rn shouldn't have an opinion about hip-hop."

Another added: "Ain't she admit that she doesn't live any of the problems she sings about tho?"
