Billie Eilish's Glastonbury slot moved to bigger stage after scoring number one album

Billie Eilish’s Glastonbury performance will be moved to a bigger stage this summer to cope with her ever-growing popularity, the festival’s co-organiser has confirmed.

Eilish, the 17-year-old pop sensation, scored her first ever UK number one single last week with the song Bad Guy.

Her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go, released in March, also hit the top of the charts, making her the youngest woman to ever achieve such a feat.

Eilish was set to perform on the John Peel Stage at this year’s Worthy Farm festival, but her listing will now be upgraded, said co-organiser Emily Eavis.

“We’re currently moving her,” Eavis told BBC Radio 2. “She’s on John Peel at the moment but she’s much too big, really, for the slot.

“It’s happened so quickly for Billie Eilish. It’s been such an amazing year. It really is going to be her summer.

“We are trying to give her a bigger stage where we can get a larger audience in there,” Eavis continued. “So we are going to move her onto the Other Stage and we are just working out where exactly that’s going to be.”

It comes after the first wave of acts set to play at this year’s Glastonbury, which runs from June 26-30, were revealed.

The Killers, the Cure, Stormzy, Kylie and Janet Jackson will headline the festival, with Liam Gallagher, George Ezra, Miley Cyrus and Tame Impala among those joining them.

The line-up for the Silver Hayes stage has also been unveiled, featuring AJ Tracey, Four Tet, Peggy Gou and more.
