Billie Eilish's boyfriend apologises for previous racist and homophobic tweets

Billie Eilish's boyfriend Matthew Tyler Vorce has taken to social media to apologise for his past racist and homophobic tweets.

The Bad Guy singer was first linked to Matthew at the beginning of April, and since then his old offensive posts from Twitter and Facebook have resurfaced.

Screenshots of the tweets emerged on social media and show the actor being accused of using the n-word while also referring to homosexual men as ‘f**s’.

In another tweet from 2012, Matthew also took a swipe at iconic singer Adele and referred to her as a ‘British Miss Piggy’.

He has now taken to his Instagram page to apologise, and said: "I want to apologize for the things that I wrote on social media in the past."

"The language I used was hurtful and irresponsible and I understand how offensive those words are. Whether it was a lyric, a quote or just me being dumb, it does not matter."

He continued: "I am ashamed and deeply sorry that I used them in any context. It is not how I was raised and it is not what I stand for. I shouldn't have used this language in the first place and I won't use it again. I am so sorry for the hurt I have caused.

"I take full responsibility and continue to hold myself accountable for my actions."

Mirror have contacted Billie's reps for comment.

Billie, 19, has yet to address the controversy.

It comes after superstar Billie has been spotted hanging out with Matthew several times in recent months, as the pair appear to have enjoyed a string of romantic dates.

Actor and writer Matthew has appeared in TV movie Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? alongside James Franco, as well as Little Monsters and Return Home.

Meanwhile, Billie has also been under fire after resurfaced videos showed her mocking Asian accents and using a racist slur.

The singer used the word "ch*nk", an offensive slur referring to a person of Chinese descent, in the first video.

In a second clip, Billie appears to mock an Asian accent, while her brother Finneas later calls her out for speaking with a "black accent".
