Billie Eilish is launching a 90s-inspired clothing collection with Freak City

Billie Eilish has become as well known for her distinctive style as she is for her irrefutable impact on the music scene, recording her first viral hit at the age of 15 and loading her Instagram with androgynous ensembles.

The 17-year-old’s sartorial taste forgoes anything tight and suggestive in favour of loose, body-obscuring silhouettes in mixed prints and highlighter hues.

It’s not surprising, then, that the “Bad Guy” singer should launch her very own capsule clothing collection.

Delivering a 10-piece capsule that looks as though it’s been pulled straight from the Nineties, Eilish has launched the collection in collaboration with LA-based fashion brand Freak City

The pieces are everything you'd expect from the star, with a range of oversized T-shirts, baggy shorts, sports bras and hoodies in a loud colour palette of neon green, orange and red.

Each of the items are emblazoned with the singer’s name in graffiti as well as retro-inspired bold fonts that read “I Love U”, “My Fav” and “Baby Girl”.

The singer announced the new line on Twitter earlier this week alongside a photo of herself wearing a bright green hoodie and shorts set from the collection.

“BILLIE EILISH X FREAK CITY. Available now,” she said

The capsule ranges in price from £50 to £120 and is available for preorder now.

The collection will officially be released on 16 September.

Eilish has been vocal about the reason she chooses to wear oversized clothing and even discussed the topic during a campaign shoot for luxury fashion brand Calvin Klein

In the 30-second video, the singer said: “I never want the world to know everything about me. I mean, that’s why I wear big, baggy clothes.

”Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath, you know?

“Nobody can be like, ‘Oh, she’s slim-thick, she’s not slim-thick, she’s got a flat ass, she’s got a fat ass.' No one can say any of that, because they don’t know.”
