Bill Turnbull has his sights set on Piers Morgan's job on Good Morning Britain

Bill Turnbull joined Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain today and confessed he would love to host the show.

After appearing alongside his old presenting partner Susanna he even joked saying: “What are you doing tomorrow?”

Bill was on the show to speak about his new documentary, where he tries cannabis, and he also opened up about his health following his terminal cancer diagnosis.

Speaking about trying cannabis during his new documentary, he said: “It was an embarrassing moment actually, I wasn’t expecting that to happen.

"I was doing a piece to camera, or trying to, and I just couldn't’t form a sentence.”

On his diagnosis with terminal cancer, he said: “I feel amazingly well. To be honest, I feel better than before diagnosis.

“You do have to try and stay positive and I try and stay happy.

"Frankly, being happy is nicer than being miserable Piers! That’s all part of the healing process from within, I believe that.

"I think you can help yourself get better.

"[I use] conventional medicine, I get treated at the Royal Marsden and they are absolutely wonderful.

"But I have to help myself as well.

"So diet, I have stopped drinking, [I] try to take exercise and keep working on having a moment of joy every day is really important.”

Susanna then invited Bill to come and sit next to her and present Good Morning Britain while Piers Morgan is on holiday.

He replied: “I would love to, name the day. I wouldn’t do it full time. It is a little bit stressful and stress is not good for cancer, but every once in a while would be great. What are you doing tomorrow?”

He also handed Piers a vegan sausage roll, admitting that he really liked them. Susanna concluded: “I love him, absolutely love him.”
