
A former top US diplomat has quit an international advisory panel tackling the Rohingya crisis, saying it's a "whitewash".
Bill Richardson was once considered a close friend of Aung San Suu Kyi.
But he has dismissed the panel as a "cheerleading operation" for Myanmar’s leader and accused her of lacking moral leadership.
Myanmar says it was saddened by his departure.
