Bill Hader yelled at George to defend Lillard better on Game 5 shot

Actor Bill Hader was not happy with the way that Thunder forward Paul George defended Damian Lillard on his game-winning shot in Game 5 against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Hader, a native of Tulsa, appeared on a recent episode of the Showtime series “Desus and Mero” to discuss a variety of topics, including his love of the Thunder.

The “Barry” actor has infamously stated in the past that he is a big fan of the Thunder and once jokingly anointed himself as the team superfan, much like how Jack Nicholson is with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Like most Thunder fans, he wasn’t happy with the ending to Game 5.

I thought that the way they went out this year was, I mean that shot by Damian Lillard was rough. I was yelling at my TV at Paul George to get up in his face. ‘Why aren’t you on him! You’re like six inches taller than him, get in his face!’ I was at home in front of my TV standing up like this going, ‘Ahhhh! What are you doing?!’ His name is logo, that’s his shot.

Of course, Lillard sent the Thunder home with his 37-foot game-winning shot to advance to the second round of the NBA Playoffs. They are currently trailing the Golden State Warriors 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals.

Hader was every Thunder fan during Game 5 as Lillard launched that shot. After speaking about that shot, Hader also talked about Russell Westbrook and the passion that he plays with.

“Barry” airs Sunday nights on HBO.
