Bill Callahan thinks Ereck Flowers can be one of NFL’s best

Washington Redskins interim head coach Bill Callahan knows a thing or two about the offensive line.

So when Callahan says Ereck Flowers is great and has the potential to be one of the NFL’s best guards, it’s probably best to pay attention.

According to ESPN’s John Keim, Callahan said “he’s come a long way in a short period of time… he could be one of the top guards in the league.”

High praise. Flowers came to Washington and after a brief flirtation with tackle committed to guard and has since shored up what has been a big problem area for the Redskins for a long time.

We might still be a ways away from finding out if Flowers can be one of the outright best, but the former Giants draft bust has come a long way in his new surroundings. In doing so, he’s provided an unexpected boost for a line still missing its best outright player.
