Bill Callahan compares Adrian Peterson to LaDanian Tomlinson

Adrian Peterson is one of the greatest running backs of all time, but even at the ripe old age of 34, he is still putting on impressive performances. His latest game against the Dolphins — in which the Redskins picked up their first victory of the season — has left interim head coach Bill Callahan comparing him to another NFL great, LaDanian Tomlinson.

Peterson rushed for 118 yards on 23 carries Sunday, and he seemed to flourish under Callahan’s new run-heavy emphasized offense. Several times throughout the game, Peterson was able to take a handoff up the middle, find a hole and burst through it for a solid gain.

While the Redskins are without second-year RB Derrius Guice as he recovers from a knee injury, Peterson is just about all the Redskins have in the backfield. If Sunday’s performance was any indication of things to come, they should be fine going forward.
