Bill Belichick was candid with Sean McVay after Rams’ win: ‘You killed us’

Bill Belichick and Brian Flores stymied Sean McVay and the Rams in Super Bowl LIII, winning that game 13-3. But last Thursday, McVay got at least some small revenge on the team that ended his championship hopes two years ago.

The Rams crushed the Patriots, 24-3, cruising to a Week 14 victory. It moved them one step closer to the postseason and an NFC West title, showing everyone in the NFL that the Rams are a legitimate Super Bowl threat – again.

After the game, McVay and Belichick exchanged brief post-game pleasantries and the Patriots coach actually got somewhat candid with McVay.

“Great job, you (expletive) killed us today. You had a great plan. You’ve got a good team. Good luck. Good job,” Belichick said on the field.

The Rams dropped the Patriots to 6-7 on the year, all but ending their playoff chances by pushing them down further in the AFC standings. It’s rare for Belichick to show any bit of vulnerability like this, but it was fun to see him admit that the Rams crushed his team.

Because, well, they did.
