Bill Belichick’s Patriots have made trades with each of the other 31 NFL teams

Bill Belichick traded Demaryius Thomas to the New York Jets for a draft pick Tuesday. It completed the cycle for the Patriots’ coach: He has made a trade with every team in the NFL during his time in New England. Here are some of the highlights of his trading resume with the help of Profootballreference.com,

Arizona Cardinals

In 2016, defensive lineman Chandler Jones was moved to Arizona for a second-round pick and G Jonathan Cooper. Jones had 41 sacks in his first three seasons in the desert. In 2005, Belichick had swung a deal with the Cardinals involving multiple draft picks.

Atlanta Falcons

In a deal that was not memorable in 2010, the Patriots sent a seventh-round pick (Cliff Matthews) to the Falcons for Quinn Ojinnaka.

Baltimore Ravens

In 2003, the Baltimore Ravens sent a pair of picks to New England for the 19th overall pick in the draft. The Ravens wound up with Kyle Boller, who was a bust. The second pick the Patriots received turned into Vince Wilfork, the 21st pick in the 2004 NFL Draft.

Buffalo Bills

A deal with because of the Tom Brady effect. In 2002, Belichick sent Drew Bledsoe to Buffalo for a No. 1 pick. The Pats got the 14th pick in the 2003 draft, which they subsequently traded. It turned into DE Michael Haynes, who was picked by Chicago.

Carolina Panthers

In 2003, New England sent two picks to the Panthers for a second-round pick that turned into Bethel Johnson.

Chicago Bears

The Patriots sent the pick they got from Buffalo for Drew Bledsoe and a sixth-rounder to move up to the 13th slot in 2003. They drafted DE Ty Warren from Texas A&M.

Cincinnati Bengals

In 2004, the Pats sent a second-round pick Cincinnati’s way for RB Corey Dillon. In another deal with the Bengals, they traded two draft picks in 2011 for Chad Johnson. A year later, they traded a first- and third-rounder for the 21st overall pick, which turned into Chandler Jones.

Cleveland Browns

The first trade Belichick made with the team he used to coach saw the Pats give up considerations for Andre Davis in August of 2005. Bigger deals included a 2016 swap of a draft pick for Barkevious Mingo, another deal that year that saw Jamie Collins go to Cleveland for a third-rounder that was traded, a 2019 third-rounder that in part landed New England Danny Shelton (pictured) and a 2018 sixth-rounder in return for Jason McCourty and a seventh-round pick that turned out to be LSU’s Danny Etling.

Dallas Cowboys

In 2002, Dallas sent two lower-round picks to NE for a fifth-rounder. A huge deal happened in 2010. Dallas got Belichick’s 24th overall pick in the first round, which it used to take Dez Bryant, and a fourth-rounder in exchange for its first-round pick (27th), which New England used to choose Devin McCourty, and a third-rounder.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos sent a fourth-round pick to New England in 2002. New England used it to draft LSU QB Rohan Davey. In return, the Broncos got a fourth- and a fifth-rounder. A year later the Patriots sent a fourth- and fifth-rounder to Denver for a first-rounder that turned into DB Asante Samuel. A major deal occurred in 2012 when Denver landed NE’s first- and fourth-rounder for its first rounder. Belichick used it to draft Dont’a Hightower,

Detroit Lions

An early Belichick trade saw a fifth-rounder go to Detroit for a sixth- and seventh-rounder in 2001. In 2017, one of the picks Detroit got from NE turned into WR Kenny Golladay.

Green Bay Packers

The first time the teams dealt under Belichick saw two picks in 2005 head to GB for a sixth-rounder. A much bigger trade happened in 2009. The Pats sent their first-round pick and a fifth-rounder to the Packers for a second and two third-rounders. Green Bay used its first pick to choose Clay Matthews.

In 2003, the Pats sent Greg Randall to Houston for a fifth-round pick they subsequently moved. Eight years later, Belichick sent the 60th overall pick to the Texans for two picks, which became Stevan Ridley and Marcus Cannon. The Pats sent QB Ryan Mallett (pictured) to the Texans in 2014 for a 2016 seventh-rounder they subsequently dealt.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts and Pats made two deals in 2017. The first involved a fourth-rounder for a sixth rounder. The second was bit bigger: QB Jacoby Brissett went to Indy for WR Phillip Dorsett.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville acquired a third-round pick from NE in 2009 in return for a pair of selections, the first choice was a seventh-rounder … Julian Edelman. The other pick was a second-rounder in 2010 the Pats traded.

Kansas City Chiefs

In 2009, Belichick sent backup QB Matt Cassel and versatile LB Mike Vrabel to KC for a second-round pick. Vrabel was a three-time Super Bowl champ and fit the mold of a Belichick player splendidly.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Patriots picked Kenyatta Jones with the 96th overall pick from San Diego in 2001 and sent a fourth- and fifth-rounder to the Chargers.

Los Angeles Rams

A minor deal took place in 2012 when the Pats sent a seventh-rounder to the Rams for Greg Salas.

Miami Dolphins

The Patriots forced the Dolphins’ hand in 2007. They were going to sign Wes Welker to a lucrative free-agent deal. Rather than go through the hassle of battling for the WR’s services, Miami sent him to NE for a second- and seventh-round pick. A huge win for New England.

Minnesota Vikings

The Pats traded back in 2001, sending Minnesota a third-round pick and receiving a lower third-rounder and fourth-rounder in return.

New Orleans Saints

DB Tebucky Jones was sent to New Orleans for a pair of picks in 2003 and one in 2004.

New York Giants

Oakland Raiders

One of the best moves Belichick made in his storied career was acquiring Randy Moss from Oakland in 2007 for a fourth-round pick. Moss and Tom Brady proved an unstoppable combination. The Pats also made a 2009 deal with the Raiders that saw Richard Seymour exchanged for a first-round pick that turned into Nate Solder.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Patriots and Eagles swapped lower-round picks in 2009. They sent a fifth-rounder in 2019 to Philly for Michael Bennett and a seventh-rounder.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The second trade Coach Bill Belichick made as a Patriot sent a draft pick to Pittsburgh for two picks, which became Dominick Raiola and Carlos Polk.

San Francisco 49ers

It wasn’t a deal that was popular with the coach, but he sent backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo to San Francisco in 2017. Garoppolo appeared to be the heir apparent to Tom Brady. However, No. 12 hasn’t left the starting lineup in New England and Garoppolo was injured last year in SF.

Seattle Seahawks

The Patriots dealt Deion Branch to the Northwest in 2006 for a first-round pick, which they used to select Brandon Meriweather.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Patriots sent a pair of draft picks to Tampa in 2008 for a fifth-round pick, which was used to draft Matthew Slater. In 2013, the Pats dealt with Tampa Bay and wound up getting Aqib Talib in a deal.

Tennessee Titans

The Pats sent a pair of picks to Tennessee in 2003. They received three picks in return. Oh, with the sixth-rounder they drafted a QB out of Texas Tech: Kliff Kingsbury.

Washington Redskins

In 2002. Belichick sent three picks, including his first-rounder, to Washington for another first-round pick, which the Patriots used to select TE Daniel Graham out of Colorado.
