Bill Belichick has nothing but praise for Eli Manning, Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley

The New York Giants (2-3) will face the New England Patriots (5-0) on Thursday up in Foxborough and as is customary, each team’s head coach has a conference call with the opposing team’s media pool.

That usually takes place on Wednesdays, but since this is a short week, the calls were held on Monday. In a very rare instance, the Giants’ beat pool had a crack at the man under the hoodie, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, whose great career started back in the 1980s as the Giants defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells.

Belichick has always had a fondness for the Giants organization, even after they knocked him off in two Super Bowls. One of the main reasons for those losses is Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who now serves as the backup to rookie Daniel Jones.

Belichick never really dwells too much on non-football rhetoric and puts ups guardrails for the media by reminding them to keep their inquiries toward the upcoming game.

The eight-time Super Bowl champion complimented the Giants on their offense, saying they had “two great quarterbacks” and have “a ton of weapons that are a lot for us to handle.”

Belichick went on to say that any team would be fortunate to have either Manning or Jones and elaborated a bit on the difference between the two.

Belichick also fielded questions about his defense, which has allowed just 34 points in the first five games this season.

The Giants could have star running back Saquon Barkley back for this game. He’s missed the past two weeks with a high ankle sprain but appears close to returning.

The Giants are 15.5-point underdogs on Thursday and there aren’t too many people believing they can win this game. Belichick is not one of them. He’s always prepared.
