Bill Belichick has an unbelievable reaction to Andrew Luck’s retirement

Bill Belichick seemed to have missed the biggest sports news of the weekend — and perhaps the biggest NFL news so far in the 2019 season. The New England Patriots coach was asked about Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck’s decision to retire.

Belichick seemed to have just learned the news on Monday morning when the reporter asked the question.

“He’s a good player. I didn’t see that, so I didn’t really follow them,” Belichick said on Monday. “We all have to make our decisions. He made his. I respect it.”

It’s not clear what’s more surprising: Belichick missing the news or the news itself. Seriously, how did he miss that? It’s so hard to believe that I’m wondering if he misspoke and meant he didn’t see it coming.

Luck decided to step away from the game after years of pain, injury and rehabilitation, including missing the entire 2017 season. He found that the no longer loved football and needed to move on with his life.
