Bill Belichick had ‘good conversation’ about trade request with N’Keal Harry

N’Keal Harry was more aggressive than most New England Patriots players in his approach to request a trade.

The third-year receiver hasn’t had the same production as other first-round picks in his draft class and injuries have a lot to do with it. Over his first two seasons, Harry has appeared in 21 games — recording 45 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns. Harry’s agent, Jamal Tooson, directed the receiver’s struggles toward the 86 total targets he’s had over two seasons.

It seemed unlikely the 23-year-old would be around for training camp, but he’s been present and has carried a positive attitude. While speaking with the media on Monday, Bill Belichick briefly touched on the topic.

“N’Keal and I have talked about it,” Belichick said. “We had a good conversation. We have a good relationship, so I’m not going to get into all that.”

Last Friday, Harry discussed the situation and had an entirely different perspective — at least for external parties to hear.

“Right now, I’m really not worried about anything trade-wise,” Harry said. “I’m focused on how to be the best version of myself on the field, going out there, working hard and improving every day.”

With the potential offers the Patriots would receiver for Harry, they would likely be better off keeping him around one more season.
