Bill Bailey treats Celebrity Gogglebox viewers to some dance moves after Strictly win

Celebrity Gogglebox is back on our screens and fast friends Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse were one of the famous couples tuning in to the best of British telly. And the comedian was quick to show Gogglebox viewers that he can still dance.

The pair have become fast friends after winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2020. Bill won over the nation with his moves and the pair wowed the judges with their Couple's Choice to the Sugarhill Gang's Rappers' Delight.

But as the Channel 4 show began Oti was sitting on the sofa but Bill was keen to show her that he could still dance. And viewers were treated to some of his steps.

Oti started the conversation though, with the professional dancer concerned about Bill's health. "What happened to your back ache?" she asked. "I thought you had back problems."

Undeterred Bill replied: "Seeing you, I am infused with the spirit of dance."

He added: "You know what? I've still been practising. In the show, I do a bit of Charleston." And with that, he began to show off his fancy footwork.

Oti seemed to love the moves but it wasn't long before the dancing coach in her took over. She quickly began shouting directions at the 57-year-old comedian.

"Oh look at that swivel," she said. "Move your arms. Move your arms."

The pair were soon singing Puttin' on the Ritz, a song made famous by dancer Fred Astaire.

Viewers took to social media to share their delight at seeing Bill dance. Gavin Evans (@GavinEvs) said: "Bill Bailey would never have done that a couple of years ago, fair play to him #Gogglebox."

Bill and Oti were joined by a host of other celebrity couples as Celebrity Gogglebox returned to Channel 4. The cast included: Nick and Liv Grimshaw, Rylan and his mum Linda, Shaun Ryder and Bez, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher, Martin and Roman Kemp, Mo Gilligan and Babatunde Aléshé and Mel C and her brother Paul.

The famous faces watched some of the latest and best TV including Stranger Things, Hunted, Platinum Party at the Palace, The 1% Club, and Celebrity Karaoke Club.
