NEW DELHI: In a see-saw battle, Bikram Veer Singh defeated a tenacious Rehan Mishra to clinch the Delhi state junior snooker title here. Bikram prevailed over Rehan with a 58-5, 50-63, 69-39, 66-56 and 67-11 scoreline in the summit clash.
Earlier in the semis, Bikram had edged past Nitish 62-34, 63-50, 62-46 to reach the final. The Delhi state billiards and snooker championships is being played in the memory of legendary Wilson Jones – a professional player of English billiards from India who won the amateur World Championships twice in 1958 and 1964.
The winner and runner-up of the championships will represent the Delhi state at the Nationals, to be held in Indore early next month. The tournament carries a total prize money of Rs 1 lakh.
