Biker taken to hospital after crashing with Ford Focus in Chester-le-Street

A man has been taken to hospital after a crash in County Durham.

Emergency services were called the two-vehicle crash to the roundabout at Park Road, in Chester-le-Street, on Wednesday morning.

Police say the collision involved a blue Ford Focus and a motorbike.

Paramedics from North East Ambulance Service arrived on the scene shortly after 9.10am and treated two injured men.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a wrist injury while the driver was discharged at the scene.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Police were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Park Road, Chester-le-Street shortly after 9am this morning [November 4].

"It involved a blue Ford Focus and a motorbike. The rider was taken to the hospital with minor injuries while the driver was checked over at the scene.

"The vehicles are currently being recovered."

A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 09:13 to an RTC involving a car and a motorbike at the roundabout on Park Road North in Chester-le-Street.

"We dispatched a double-crewed ambulance and a rapid response paramedic to the scene.

"One patient was transported to the University Hospital of North Durham with a wrist injury and another patient was treated and discharged on scene.”
