A biker is seriously injured in hospital after a crash.
Northumbria Police is appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened in Gateshead, at around 7.45pm last night.
The motorcyclist suffered what police have described as 'serious life-changing injuries'. and remains in hospital.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "Police are appealing for witnesses for a collision involving a motorcycle on Saltwell Road South, Gateshead , on Saturday evening at about 7.45pm.
"Emergency services attended and the driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious life changing injuries.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who saw what happened is being asked to contact police."
Officers would also like to hear from anyone who might have captured the collision on their dash cam.
