Biker suffers head and chest injuries in St James' Interchange accident

A 54-year-old biker has been seriously injured in a collision on the A737 at the St James' Interchange in Paisley.

The mad was hurt yesterday afternoon and Police Scotland officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision around 3.55 pm, where the eastbound off slip of A737 joins the M8, to get in touch.

No other vehicle was involved and nobody else was injured.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, with head and chest injuries.

His condition is described by medical staff as being serious but stable.

Sergeant Craig Beaver said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was driving in the vicinity of the St James’ Interchange at the time of the collision.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the driver of an HGV lorry who may be able to assist with enquiries and anyone who captured the incident on a dashcam.”
