Biker rushed to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after horror smash on Glasgow road

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being knocked off his bike in Glasgow.

The 62-year-old was badly hurt after his Honda CB650 collided with a grey Ford Kuga on Royston Road yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the entrance of the British Car Auctions site at around 4.15pm.

The biker was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment while the 46-year-old male driver of the Kuga was uninjured.

Police locked down the road for around five hours to allow for accident investigation.

It reopened at around 9pm.

Officers are now appealing for motorists who may have relevant dash cam footage to come forward.

Sergeant Kenny Malaney of the Glasgow Road Policing Unit said: “Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, and has not already spoken to police to contact us.

“We are also appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and recording via a dash cam device to please check for any relevant footage which could help our investigation.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2323 of 22 February, 2021.
