Biker rushed to hospital with serious injuries after horror smash in Aberdeen as police probe launched

A biker has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an early morning motorbike smash in Aberdeen.

The 41-year-old was riding a white Yamaha bike on Mastrick Road in the city when he crashed at around 5.20am on Sunday.

He was rushed to hospital by paramedics with medical staff describing his condition as ‘stable’.

The road was closed to allow for accident investigation work before reopening shortly before 9am.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the rider before the collision or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Sergeant Peter Henderson of the North East Road Policing Unit said: “Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who saw the motorbike, either prior to the collision, or anyone who may have witnessed what happened, and has not already spoken to police to contact us.

“Similarly, anyone who was in the area and recording via a dashcam, please check your device for any footage which may be relevant to our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 0892 of 23 May.
