Biker rushed to hospital after crash on busy road

A biker has been rushed to hospital following a crash on a busy road.

Emergency services were scrambled to Plodder Lane, in Farnworth, earlier this morning (Friday July 29) after a collision involving a motorbike. Photographs taken from the scene show at least one police car and an ambulance close to the junction with Daisy Avenue.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that the biker's injuries are 'not thought to be life threatening' and the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) described them as 'non-serious'. An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the crash.

A spokesman for NWAS added: "We responded to an RTC involving a motorbike. The rider suffered non-serious injuries and was taken to hospital."

Traffic was backed up to Our Lady of Lourdes Church following the crash but the scene had cleared by 9am.
