Biker remains critically ill after horrific smash outside petrol station

Detectives are still hunting the driver of a car after a motorbike rider was left fighting for his life.

The 20-year-old suffered critical injuries when a Fiat was 'deliberately' driven into his machine in Salford .

He remains in Salford Royal Hospital. The incident was at 9pm on Saturday in Little Hulton and so far no arrests have been made.

A blue Fiat Sedici drove at the bike in what police are calling a 'targeted' attack. CCTV footage shows the Fiat shunting the motorbike into the forecourt of Deccans Fuel petrol station on Cleggs Lane.

A 23-year-old man who was a pillion passenger on the bike suffered minor injuries after falling from it. The driver and occupants of the Fiat ran from the scene.

Detective Inspector Lee Moriarty, from GMP’s Salford borough, said after the incident on Saturday: “First of all my thoughts are with the man as he receives treatment in hospital.

“We have launched an investigation and we are currently searching for the driver and occupants of the blue Fiat.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who saw the collision, and in particular those who may have dash-cam footage.

“Officers will be in the area as we continue our investigation and I would like to encourage anyone with any questions, concerns or information to speak to them.”
