Biker fighting for his life in hospital after crashing into lamppost in Leeds

A 37-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after a motorcycle crashed into a lamppost in Horsforth.

At 12.11am this morning (Thursday) emergency services were called to Low Lane to reports a Black Kawasaki off road motorcycle had left the carriageway and crashed into a lamppost.

The vehicle was travelling towards Leeds Ring Road, according to West Yorkshire Police.

The rider, a 37-year-old man, sustained head injuries and is in critical condition. He remains in hospital for treatment.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the rider prior to the incident or witnessed the collision to contact 101, particularly if you have dashcam footage or CCTV that can assist in the investigation.

A scene was put in place overnight but it has since been removed.
