Biker dies in horror A77 crash after bike veered off motorway

A motorcyclist has died in horror Scots A77 crash after 'losing control' of his bike.

The 60-year-old was travelling north near Harelaw Farm, Fenwick, when he veered off the carriageway yesterday.

Mercy crews raced to the scene at around 6.15pm but the man was tragically found dead.

His family have now been notified of the heartbreaking news.

The busy road was closed for hours while officers investigated the area.

Detectives have now launchd a major probe into the fatal crash and urging anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said "Around 6.15pm, a motorcyclist was travelling north along the A77, near Harelaw Farm, Fenwick when the bike appeared to lose control and left the carriageway.

"Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified.

"An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the incident. The road was closed for several hours as collision investigation took place.

"Road Policing officers are appealing for anyone who was on the road around the time of the incident to contact them.

"In particular, anyone with dash cam devices is asked to check any images it may have captured.

"Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3321 of 19 June, 2021."
