Biker arrested after crashing into tree in city centre

A motorcyclist has been arrested after he collided with a tree in Bristol city centre.

Police were called to reports of a single vehicle collision in Prince Street at around 8.30am this morning (November 16).

A man was taken to hospital with arm and shoulder injuries and was then arrested.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "A motorcyclist was in a collision with a tree.

"He was taken to hospital with arm and shoulder injuries."

The man, aged in his 20s, has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of theft of the bike, driving while under the influence of alcohol and careless driving.

The spokesman added that Prince Street was closed until 11.30am for police to take place.
