Bike yobs steal rings worth thousands in Liverpool ONE jewellery smash and grab

Yobs helped themselves to thousands of pounds worth of rings, pedants and bridal sets before fleeing on bikes after a smash and grab at a city jewellers.

Today detectives released images of four pieces of distinctive jewellery worth a combined £7.2K which were among items the thieves snatched during the early morning break-in at Ernest Jones in Liverpool ONE.

An appeal has been launched to find the culprits with police confirming the raiders, two males rode off on bicycles with their haul.

The break-in happened between 12.50am and 1am on Friday, February 5.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "The jewellery that was stolen included a Le Vian strawberry gold and pearl pendant, gold and diamond oval cluster ring, vanilla gold blue aquamarine and diamond ring, and a strawberry gold and raspberry Rhodolite ring.

"CCTV and forensic enquiries have been carried out and an investigation is underway."

Police released pictures of the four items mentioned which are currently retailing on the Ernest Jones website at prices ranging from £1,499 to £1,999 and a combined retail price of just under £7.2K.

Detective Inspector Paul Jones said: “Some of the jewellery that was taken is very distinctive and we hope that by releasing these pictures people will recognise them.
