'Bike Un Ai Rak' rehearsal set to go ahead on Sunday

A rehearsal of the "Bike Un Ai Rak" cycling event will take place this Sunday along the scheduled route.

Registration for the rehearsal will start at noon and the cycling will start at 3pm, as with the actual event on Dec 9, said ACM Satitpong Sukvimol, private secretary to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn.

Roads will be closed from noon to 7pm.

Participants can wear yellow or blue.

His Majesty the King will provide T-shirts he designed for participants of the event, the first batches of which will be distributed nationwide Dec 1-2.

Meanwhile, the Defence Ministry has launched a new song Dut Dang Sai Fah (Like a Bolt of Lightning) in honour of His Majesty the King.

The song is performed by Artiwara "Toon" Kongmalai who made history when he raised over 1 billion baht for 11 public hospitals by running from the country's southern tip in Betong of Yala, up north to the finish line in Mae Sai of Chiang Rai over 55 days late last year.

Ministry spokesman Kongcheep Tantravanich said the song won an army competition aimed at honouring His Majesty the King.

The song was composed by Pongprom Snitwong na Ayuthaya, who was also responsible for King of Kings which honoured the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
