Bihar: RWD engineer, cashier arrested for taking Rs 50,000 as bribe in Aurangabad

AURANGABAD: An executive engineer of Daudnagar division of rural works department, Arun Kumar, and cashier Rakesh Kumar Singh were arrested by a vigilance team while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 on Tuesday.

According to sources, Gopal Singh, a contractor of Aurangabad, had complained to the Vigilance Investigation Bureau against the executive engineer and the cashier for demanding a bribe of Rs50,000 for the payment of his bill of the road construction work. A case was registered by the vigilance bureau, which formed a raiding team. As soon as Gopal went to the residence of Arun at Bhakhrua Mor and handed over Rs40,000 as a bribe, the vigilance team arrested the executive engineer.

After that Rakesh was also arrested while taking a bribe of Rs10,000 at the office of rural works department. Both persons were taken to Patna.

The vigilance team included DSP Surendra Kumar Mawar and sub-inspector Vinod Kumar among others.
