PATNA: A jilted lover killed one Class XII student for refusing his proposal at Bahadurpur village in Vaishali district late Tuesday evening. The girl was identified as 17-year-old Sonam Kumari, the daughter of Umesh Mahto.
The incident took place when she was going on her bicycle to attend the computer class at Karpoori Chowk. The accused dragged and strangled her. According to police, the accused Anil Kumar, son of Jaimangal Mahto of Kudhni Malkauni in Muzaffarpur district, used to tease the girl. Anil’s sister-in-law lives near the girl’s house. He used to pressurize her to marry him. Sonam had even lodged a complaint against him at Goraul police station about four days back.
According to Sonam’s father, he had also complained against Anil at Goraul police station four days back. He named four persons in the FIR. According to police, the accused had been absconding.
Man beaten to death: A middle-aged man was allegedly beaten to death with sticks and iron rods for littering cowdung and urine on the road in Gopalganj district late Tuesday evening. Six persons, including four women of a family, were also injured in the incident. The deceased was identified as Rudal Gond of Mathauli village under Bhore police station area. He had a scuffle with his neighbour Paras Gupta. The accused with his family members attacked Rudal and his wife Indravati Devi and their sons and daughters. Rudal was referred to Gorakhpur but he died on the way.
Hathua SDPO Naresh Kumar said a named FIR has been registered against six persons, including Paras. “Raids are being conducted to arrest all the accused,” he said.
