ARA: The CPI(ML) MLA from Agiyaon, Manoj Manzil, surrendered before the special court for lawmakers at Ara in Bhojpur district on Friday. His bail bond was cancelled on April 6 for repeatedly not appearing on the dates fixed by the court in two cases in which he is an accused. However, the court granted him bail the same day.
“The court was displeased because even after fixing dates on March 15, March 23 and April 1, the MLA failed to appear. He had sought exemption from personal appearance before the court, but the court rejected his plea,” his advocate Kameshwar Singh said.
The first case in which the MLA, along with over 300 other unknown people, is an accused is related to obstructing the circle officer of Sahar block in Bhojpur district from discharge his duty in 2013. The second case, lodged in August 2015, is related to the murder of one Jai Prakash Singh of Badgaon village.
