Bihar CM reviews plan to redevelop Patna-based Moin-Ul-Haq stadium into a word-class sports complex

PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Friday reviewed a presentation on redevelopment plan of Patna’s Rajendra Nagar-based Moin-Ul-Haq stadium.

While reviewing the presentation made by the art, culture and youth department’s secretary Bandana Preyasi, Nitish said a cricket stadium of international standard was already being constructed at Rajgir in Nalanda district.

The CM asked the concerned officials and experts to visit Rajgir to collect information about the ongoing construction works there and on the basis of their visit, redraft a redevelopment plan for Moin-Ul-Haq stadium, so that the Patna-based stadium could be constructed in a better way.

Earlier, Preyasi made a detailed presentation before the CM on the background and current status of the Moin-Ul-Haq stadium.

The concerned architect made a presentation on the map and estimate of the redevelopment plan.

The architect said the design which has been prepared to upgrade the current structure into a world-class stadium, would have facilities of hosting other 10 games along with cricket.

He said there would be world-class drainage system around the stadium. Besides a better arrangement for vehicle parking, there would be arrangement of hotel and restaurants in the new structure.

The state’s art, culture and youth minister Alok Ranjan also attended the review meeting through video-conferencing.
