Bihar: 75,000 national flags to be waved at Jagdishpur

ARA: Come April 23 and the nation will see a world record being made at Jagdishpur in Bhojpur district as 75,000 people will wave the national flag simultaneously in the presence of Union home minister Amit Shah to mark the ‘Vijayotsav’ of Veer Kunwar Singh, who led the Indian rebellion of 1857 in Bihar and defeated the British troops led by captain Le Grand on April 23, 1858 near Jagdishpur. will also attend the victory day programme and will deliver a speech on the occasion.

BJP state president Dr Sanjay Jaiswal flagged off six ‘Veer Kunwar Singh raths’ on Friday from Veer Kunwar Singh Fort at Jagdishpur to Arwal, Aurangabad, Siwan, Saran and Buxar districts urging people to attend the ‘Vijayotsav' in large numbers.

BJP workers have been asked to visit every house in Bhojpur district and distribute invitation cards to send at least one family member to attend the function.

On April 17, all panchayat representatives will be given invitation cards. From April 20 to 22, BJP leaders from the state will visit all blocks in Bhojpur district, urging people to attend the event.

BJP Bhojpur district spokesperson Surendra Sagar said: “Union minister of state for home affairs, Nityanand Rai, visited Jagdishpur on April 12 and instructed the party’s district functionaries and workers to leave no stone unturned in making 'Vijayotsav' a grand success. More than three lakh people will attend the programme. A bike rally and ‘padyatra’ will also be organized urging the people to attend the event.”
