A Glasgow care worker has been removed from the register after sending threatening and abusive messages with a 'derogatory and religious nature'.
Ann-Marie Hunter sent messages to two people between December 2021 and January 2022, with the content of the messages described as "discriminatory and Islamophobic".
She was reported to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and has now been removed from the register following her conviction in June 2022.

A report by the SSSC reads: "The behaviour is very serious. Social service workers must not behave, either in or outside the workplace, in a way which would bring their suitability to work in social services into question. Social service workers should promote and uphold diversity, act inclusively and communicate in an appropriate manner.
"You sent threatening texts and emails to two colleagues who had cooperated with an investigation by your former employer. The content of the texts was discriminatory and Islamophobic."
The report added that Ms Hunter had "failed to demonstrate insight, regret or remorse", which could put vulnerable service users at risk.
It continued: "Social service workers interact with vulnerable individuals, some of whom will have religious beliefs. The SSSC must be confident that members of the workforce can act in a manner which is inclusive, professional, and respectful.
"The discriminatory nature of the messages is indicative of a values issue which is incompatible with working in the social services sector. You have failed to demonstrate insight, regret, or remorse. We have no reassurance that you will be mindful of the protected characteristics of others in the future."
