Biggs Chris issues public apology to Rebecca Gormley as he's accused of 'faking' romance

Biggs Chris has issued a grovelling public apology to his girlfriend Rebecca Gormley after he was accused of faking their romance for money and fame.

The Love Island star was forced to make it up to Rebecca after his ex, Lori Matthews, suggested they were still together while he was in the villa.

Last night a video went viral on social media of Lori, who shares a YouTube channel with the star, as she told her fans: "Think you can hurt my feelings? My ex convinced me to support him going on Love Island… then left me after to get with another Islander."

Messages between the pair were included in the video, which shows Biggs and his then-girlfriend discuss their future after he made his debut on the show.

One WhatsApp message from Biggs in March, when the ITV2 show had ended, read: "The Rebecca thing will never proceed."

After the TikTok clip had gone viral, Biggs apologised to his girlfriend Rebecca, who he started dating shortly after Love Island aired earlier this year, once they had left the villa.

Speculation about the couple dating started in February, and they later confirmed the news.

Despite the accusations, Biggs took to his Instagram Story to tell his fans it's "sad" it has happened now when he's at his "happiest".

He explained: "I just wanna address this madness," adding that he doesn't want "any negativity" and he's "sorry" to Rebecca that it had happened in the first place.

Meanwhile, Rebecca can be heard in the background of his video saying: "I'm not bothered. Obviously I appreciate your apology."

He continued: "I apologise to you for any mistake I've made. Keep it moving, keep it positive."

He gushed over his new love and said he was happy they reconnected properly outside of the show.

Rebecca posted on her Story: "I am so grateful for everyone's messages. I love you all! Everything is good with me and Biggs. Living in the moment not in the past."
