Biggin Hill: Seventeen-year-old boy killed in motorbike crash

A 17-year-old boy has died after a motorbike crash in south-east London.

An off-duty police officer came across the scene of the accident in Main Road, Biggin Hill, just before midnight on Sunday.

Two teenagers who had been riding the bike were given first aid before paramedics arrived, but the 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.His family has been told.

The second teenager was taken to hospital where his injuries are not life-threatening. He was arrested in connection with the investigation into the crash but police have not said what for.

Detectives believe the bike was near a car at about the time of the crash and are trying to trace the driver.
